Expenses for Jack & Kathy McCann
Donation protected
Kathy McCann has been battling oral cancer off and on for the past 5 years.
After her initial diagnosis, she had surgery to remove the cancerous portion of her jaw. However, the surgeons left behind a large margin of cancerous bone and it returned with a vengeance this year.
Kathy's doctors in Knoxville attempted to treat her with radiation and chemotherapy, which appears to have worsened the condition.
In May, Kathy and her husband, Jack, decided to take a leave of absence from their jobs to take a leap of faith and travel to Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville, Florida where she is currently receiving treatment. On May 19, 2020, Kathy underwent a 14-hour surgery to remove a portion of her jaw and rebuild it with bones taken from her leg.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, her husband Jack is not able to be by her side in the hospital as she attempts to recover. After a week alone in the hospital, Kathy will need to stay close to the hospital for monitoring for at least 10 days (and could be extended longer depending on how her recovery goes).
During the duration of her treatment at MD Anderson, Jack has been staying in a hotel and the costs are quickly becoming unmanageable. By donating to Jack & Kathy, you will allow each of them to focus on Kathy's recovery and worry less about the financial situation this battle has landed them in.
Each and every penny counts, and even small donations will help them with day-to-day expenses such as food and travel.
Thank you.
