Please help me to achieve my dream

My name is Xavier Hemmings, and I am an 11-year-old 6th grader at Queen City Academy Charter School in Plainfield, New Jersey. You probably know my dad, Okello Hemmings. With his help, I launched this GoFundMe page to ask family and friends for your help with an extremely special opportunity.
I was nominated by my Science teacher, Ms. Elmahalawy to represent my school and community at the Envision National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM program in Boston, MA. By attending NYLF Explore STEM, I will join other motivated students from around the country for an experiential career exploration program this summer. National Youth Leadership Forum: Pathways to STEM is a unique learning experience for bright, forward-thinking elementary school students who will evolve into our next generation of innovators, engineers, doctors, software developers, and scientists.
As you can see, this will be a powerful experience, enabling me to interact with respected professionals in various fields while building relationships with students who will be my future colleagues.
Attending this program will enable me to further my interest in the field of Science and reach my career goals of becoming a robotics engineer. I’ll even get to apply my engineering skills and the latest technology to design, build, and program a robot, and then enter it in the robotics competition. Imagine if you had been given this opportunity for a life-changing experience when you were in school and were unable to participate for lack of funds.
My participation in the program depends on whether I can raise $3,000 in sponsorships. Explore STEM tuition is $ 2,800 and my travel to the program will be $200. I am investing every dollar I can of my own money to make sure I don’t miss out on this unique experience and am also taking on extra jobs to raise the funds I need. I am hoping that you will consider assisting me with all or some of these costs. I have contacted Stop and Shop and our local Target with similar fundraising requests. My tuition must be paid no later than May 10th, 2016.
Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Xavier Hemmings
