Exploring Black Culture In Japan

Donation protected
Amachi has been selected to participate in Oberlin's Afrikan Heritage House Winter Term project in January 2023, focusing on community building, the past and the present Black experience in Japan, and cultural connections between Black cultures and Japanese popular culture. The group will travel from southern Japan and end in the north, starting in Okinawa, stopping in Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Tokyo, and then ending in Niseko. The trip will include visits to cultural and historical sites, presentations from organizations, and meetings with Oberlin community members living in Japan. There will also be free time for students to explore on their own. And this is where we need your help! I was able to cover the cost of the trip, but am now asking for help with resources for her to explore on her own, for entertainment, food and maybe even some shopping! If you have some spare coins, please consider donating to Amachi's travel fund. I am happy to answer any questions you may have! I really appreciate any help you can provide.
