Molly Rainbird’s extension & wetroom

Hi my name is Dee and I’m doing this go fund me for Molly to help raise money towards an extensions so Molly can have a bedroom and wet room downstairs and to help with the worries for the family. Molly was born 25/01/2009 weighing a tiny 3lb 13oz, although she was tiny, she was perfect in everyway! Molly hit all of her milestones, walking, talking, she excelled at school and was and still is an absolute dream come true. Unfortunately, aged 7 years old, Molly started to suffer with vacant episodes and was Unfortunately diagnosed with myoclonic absent epilepsy. Despite Mollys seizures being well controlled, Molly started to regress in other areas e.g learning, becoming clumsy on her feet, repeating herself etc. Fast forward to 2019, Molly was still regressing in most areas and woke up one night having horrendous hallucinations, she could see spiders all over the house and she was absolutely petrified. Molly was blue lighted to hospital where her neurologist suggested they do a metabolic blood test, however it would be highly unlikely anything would come back untoward. On the 19th May 2019, the family had the most devastating news any parent could ever hear. Molly was diagnosed with a terminal illness called CLN1 Battens Disease. Molly’s mums world fell apart and she described the feeling as just felt empty. Battens Disease is a form of childhood dementia and I was told that Molly would loose her abllity to walk, talk, eat, loose her vision and become incontinent. How could this happen to there precious girl. They was told that due to how rare Battens Disease is, nobody could give them a timeline and that Molly would always be our guide. Molly is currently only one of 6 Children in the UK with this variation of Battens Disease. In 2019, the family had some home adaptations done to help Molly which they accessed through a disabled facilities grant from Tameside Council. Unfortunately, these adaptations are now no longer suitable or fit for purpose for Molly due to fire risks, her size and her onging needs. Unfortunately, Tameside Council will not help with a ground floor bedroom and wet room for Molly and therefore the family will have to raise the funds themselves. Unfortunately Adele is Mollys Mummy and full time carer, she cannot work and therefore has to rely on benefits, therefore she could not afford to pay for this outright which is why I am asking for help in anyway shape or form. At this stage, Molly is 4 Inches taller than her mum and almost 3 stone heavier. Mum has NO WAY of getting Molly out of the house incase of a fire etc... Molly recently was hospitalised due to pneumonia and despite the ramp access provided by Tameside Council, the paramedics couldn't even get a stretcher through the front or back door. Molly had to be transferred onto a stretcher in torrential rain, outside in order to get her to hospital. This is such a devastating situation to be in and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. Adele and family just want a safe space for Molly where she can exit the property safely. We are also in the process of planning a fundraiser to help get these funds together for Molly and her mum, any donations for prizes would be a massive help ❤️❤️
