⭐️ Extraordinary Eli ⭐️
To try and explain Eli’s journey would be almost impossible, to explain the emotions his loved ones have been through would be even harder! But what I can explain is the love and light this gorgeous boy brings to our lives everyday! Always smiling! Learning so much everyday! With an incredible Mum (Bailey) and Dad (Serge) who have taught him so much and have been so incredibly strong! This next part of his journey will be life changing. If we can all raise enough money to get Eli the treatment he so deserves, it would be priceless.
Eli had an incredibly difficult start in life, being born prematurely at 27 weeks he was faced with some unbelievably difficult challenges.
During his time in NICU, at around two weeks old, Eli contracted an infection called Necrotising Enterocollitus or NEC that attacked his bowels causing them to perforate and spill into his stomach cavity. This made Eli very poorly and the doctors gave him just a couple hours to live. But our Eli is a fighter and after surving the night he was taken into theatre and had 15cm of intestine removed.
Over the next few months Eli encountered more issues, that he overcame like the champ that he is, including brain bleeds, detaching of retinas, chronic lung disease and numerous surgeries.
Before leaving the hospital Bailey and Serge were told that Eli had Periventricular leukomalacia or PVL which is directly linked with cerebral palsy. Eli would most likely be disabled. Heartbreaking news.
Skip forward 6 years and Eli is bringing so much joy to our lives it's hard to put in to words. He has surpassed all expectations and continues to blow us all away!
In November Eli was given the fantastic news that he is now eligible for SDR (Selective dorsal rhizotomy). This is a spinal operation that can permanently reduce leg spasticity and encourage independent walking in children with cerebral palsy. There is no question that this operation will improve Eli's quality of life but it comes with a price tag. £45,000.
So myself, Bailey (Eli's Mum) and our friends Kristy & Katy will be getting out of our comfort zone, chucking on our hiking boots and climbing Scafell Pike, a mountain in the Lake District.
We would be so incredibly grateful for any amount of money you can donate to Eli. Let's get our beautiful boy the help he so desperately deserves
Thank you so so much!
