Hello everyone, my name is Jeane I am a 20 year old college student in Maryland who comes from a family of five and lives with my two immigrant parents. December 11th 1:43 Am my family went through an extremely terrible car accident on the highway during a snow and hail storm. The driver who caused the accident not only drove off but left us in the vehicle screaming for help and honking for hours, if it wasn’t for my iPhone and today’s technology I highly doubt we would be alive right now. Most people understand how important it is for a large working family to have a vehicle, my family is now suffering the worst year of our lives because of this accident. We are not rich at at all but Usually we push through Put in hard work and find a way to pick back up but unfortunately this is the second car accident my family has had to deal with this year. The first accident in may wasn’t major, although we did lose the car we were able to handle it in court with our insurance company and the driver who caused the accident insurance company. We did learn from the first accident that my sibling was in pain and a few weeks ago we found out she has a tumor. This accident was way more severe and caused us to lose our only source of transportation for the entire family. This has completely destroyed not only my family’s holidays but my family’s hope and main sources of income. My sister will now have to miss out of doctor appointments regarding the surgery for her tumor, my mother’s patients who rely on her for basic human necessities like walking, eating, baiting, tending to their wounds, and championship for those without family will now have to live in fear that my mom won’t be able to be there for them the way she was before most likely not even at all. I’m currently at the end of my fall semester in college and I’ll have to miss out on the classes my parents worked so hard to pay for because of this accident. My father is over 60 years old he comes from a family of 10, with 1 mother and had absolutely nothing to his name before he came in this country 30 years to build a better life for himself and worked hard enough to bring over his family including my mom. My parents spent years relying on metros, bus stops, favors and feet before they were able to obtain a vehicle. I’m currently in school to gain enough knowledge and experience to give my family the life they worked so hard to deserve. With everyone working full times 7 days a week and me balancing work and school this accident has caused more than an inconvenience in our lives, it ruined them. With my injuries, with my sister’s medical bills, with our housing bills, car insurance bills, health insurance bills we are completely destroyed by this accident. To work so hard just to suffer even more on behalf of other peoples reckless driving has been traumatic for our family we pray for anyone who is going or went through this and wouldn’t wish it on our worst enemies. My parents raised me to always meet God half way on our prayers and I pray for my family to financially recover from this life changing accident. we no longer hope for a great Christmas, we no longer hope for easy work shifts, we hope and pray for hope. We pray for a miracle. Nothing is every too small or too little every donation counts even a prayer and my family can use any help we can get right now, your sympathy and generosity means everything to us, spreading word about our incident may not only save our family but spread awareness for safe driving especially during the winter where the roads are the most dangerous. Thank you.
