Extremely Close, Yet Awfully Far: A Short Film
Donation protected
Hello My name is Eliah Miller and I am the writer and director for Extremely Close, Yet Awfully Far
A quote that has truly resonated with me is one by Matthew Henry who said, “The Lover languishes but not his love.” And that sentiment is the heart of this upcoming short.
SUMMARY:
Extremely Close, Yet Awfully Far is about Isaiah, an errant young man living in L.A, preparing for a long road trip with his girlfriend Jade. Isaiah decides to drive Jade to the college of her dreams in an attempt to stay closer to her. But, fear and doubt begin to take over, and Isaiah is caught between staying with Jade and embarking on an uncertain future, or
leaving Jade behind and any chance of a life together.
Extremely Close, Yet Awfully Far is a coming-of-age film that unfolds on two interconnected levels. The first narrative thread resonates with all who've held unspoken sentiments of a first love. This film will be the letter you never sent. Exploring the electric emotions we keep bottled within our youthful hearts. This emotional landscape finds embodiment in the story of Isaiah and Jade. Childhood sweethearts, who over the course of this journey, confront their deepest fears, doubts, and the uncertainties that shroud their shared future.
