Help Oliver get to the World Championships!

Hi, I’m Oliver. I’m 15 years old and have been climbing since the age of 6. I have already achieved a number of national titles including previous National Champion and I am currently the English Boulder Champion. I became part of the GB climbing team 4 years ago and have been training hard throughout this time to work towards my goal of representing Great Britain at the Olympics in 2028.

I am now part of the GB International Climbing Team and recently participated in my first bouldering international in Graz, where I placed 12th in Europe, just missing out on finals by one attempt. I have also just returned from representing Great Britain in Duisburg at the European Youth Championships, this time making my way successfully through qualification rounds and semi-finals to the European finals where I placed 7th in Europe and was also the highest ranking athlete in my age category for Great Britain. My goal is now set firmly on competing at the Youth World Championships in South Korea in August 2023.

I continue to work hard every day with my coach and with the support of my parents. However, unlike many more established sports, climbing is not yet a nationally funded sport at Junior level and the cost of international travel to compete has a significant impact.

My aim is try to fund raise a total of £5000 to cover the cost of travel and competing at the European and World Championships this year. I’d be very grateful for any help and support you could offer even if it’s just sharing to people who may be able to offer their support.
