Eyad Youssef Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Last week we unexpectedly lost our brother Eyad. Eyad was a kind and thoughtful son, brother, and father. He was a Professor at Frostburg University and committed his life to helping others learn and further their education. He talked passionately about his students and always went above and beyond in his community. His untimely passing left his family and friends shocked.
In Islam a soul cannot be judged before God until his debts have been paid off. The Islamic tradition views such matters of debts owed as serious issues, and the basic principle is that they must be fulfilled (unless they are pardoned). The Sunnah instructs that if a person passes away while in debt, his soul is suspended until the debts are paid off. The Prophet, (Peace and Blessings be upon him), said, “The soul of the believer is suspended by his debt until it is settled for him.” [Ahmad and At-Tirmithi - At-Tirmithi graded it hasan (good)]
We are raising money to cover his funeral expenses and outstanding debts owed to individuals. We hope our brother can find peace soon.
Any additional funds raised will be donated to a charity to establish a Sadaqa Jariya (continuing charity to others). Sadaqa jariya is an important concept within Islam. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them,” (Hadith, Muslim).
This continuing charity will benefit Eyad after his death and continue to earn him reward inshallah.
Thank you for donating to help our brother. We appreciate your support and loved. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers.
