For my Bar Mitzvah - Starting to give back

Netzach Yisroel: My School in Israel.
It’s my Bar Mitzvah! In life, I feel I’ve been given so much and I’d like to do something on this occasion to really try to significantly give back.
Most of you will know my parents. They are not so ordinary. When they arrived here in Beit Shemesh, where we now live, they came across a situation where many children had no school that was really able to give them what they needed. They responded with what I think was incredible bravery and responsibility and with a tiny team of other mums and dads they worked day and night for months in a foreign language ,culture and system to open something that would really stretch and nurture their children with the strong values they all shared. I thought they were crazy but astonishingly, they did it! And now Netzach Yisroel exists, with 80 children in its first year and over 200 already registered for next year! I have never been able to say ‘I love school’. Only strange people say that. But shockingly, I do! We all do! Something magical has been created, a model of education that is rare here, that really makes us feel happy with who we are, want to learn and to give and to achieve more and more.
Netzach was spotted by a very impressed department of education and the government will fund us from next year but for the remainder of this year, as has been the whole way through, the financial running of our amazing school is on the very broad shoulders of a few courageous parents. They have achieved amazing things. It appears that running a school is very, very expensive! But we are on our FINAL stretch. As we approach the last term of the year we now need only $300,000 (that’s nothing compared to what we needed at the start) to ensure that Netzach can give for generations to the thousands of children, like me, who make Aliya here.
So…for my Bar Mitzvah I’m going to hike the iconic Yam L’Yam- a walk from one coast of Israel to the other. Some close friends and family are walking with me and together we are hoping, alongside your kindness, to make it really worthwhile. I’d like to try to raise £15,000 towards the final total...and who knows, maybe more!
So, I’m reaching out to you to help me and hoping also that my walking team will reach out to their network. With Hashem’s help, I’m davening we can do this. Anything, however small, will help me get closer to the goal. So that I, like I know all you do, can start giving back to the world that has given me so much. Thank you to you all. And when you get here with your children or grandchildren, please come and check out Netzach Yisroel. It’s here and will be amazing for them.

There is an educational metamorphosis happening in Israel.
Netzach Yisroel is a new category of school here in Israel. True passionate Torah values, coupled with real tools and personalised education.
Every year 3,800 Olim arrive from English speaking countries. Slowly, the Jewish People are making their way back to Israel. Bet Shemesh is one of the top destinations for hundreds of young families.
For everyone; Olim and future Olim, Parents and Grandparents - the question of Education and of our children’s future success is at the heart of Aliyah.
Bet Shemesh is where things are happening and changing.
Last year, a group of young dynamic parents decided to open a new elementary school. By the people, for the people. Personable but demanding, teaching a wide range of subjects. With professionalism and excellence. In short - your school in Israel!
Identity; The most challenging aspect of moving to Israel is the “Next Generation Identity Crisis”. Every child, in every family, looks into the mirror and asks - “who am I? Where do I belong? Will my children have a successful future?”
Netzach Yisroel is more than a school. It is an identity. A place where the child feels that he or she belongs - where the child is both “seen and heard” - where each talent has expression. A place where parents and children come together - both to learn and discover. Almost a community! A place where the teachers are constantly working towards incorporating experiential and cutting-edge methods of teaching - and adapting to the needs of the child of today.
Well, here is the most amazing turn of events:
The Government of Israel was so impressed by this small Boutique school - that it has officially granted it the status of a State-funded school… starting in September.
This is where, together, we can take a real role in shaping the Future of Klal Yisrael.
To continue through our first year we need to raise $300,000, after that we will receive support from the Ministry of Education.
Your gift will provide stability for this institution that is already changing the lives of many children and will transform hundreds of olim over the coming years.
The unique makeup of the school, 50% hebrew speakers and 50% english speakers, with a number of Olim right from the airport - together with a perfect blend of Torah with “Derech Eretz” - has made this school a popular choice for many children who have already enrolled for next year!
However, we remain in need of financial support for this crucial year. We need partners. Every donation makes a real difference!
This pioneering school is only possible because of people like you. People who believe that without a broad wholesome exemplary education, we can’t expect our children to enter the adult world. Right, now, our school runs on YOUR generosity. So please donate today.
Your donation is an investment in each neshamah that walks through our door. It is an investment in the very best of klal Yisrael.
