EZ Out (Stephen Frech) recovery and housing fund

My father Stephen Frech (AKA EZ Out) fell at night down an embankment in the woods near where he had been camping in southern Humboldt at the end of August.  He broke several ribs and hit his head on rocks, knocking himself out. He laid there for four days in pain in the sun before telling himself that if he didn’t get out, he would die. He was able to slowly crawl up towards the road before passing out again and being located two days later and taken to the hospital. While in the hospital one of his lungs deflated. After a couple days he was released to a recovery home in Eureka. Rumors were swirling that he was dead and eventually after 3 days of nightmares,  I was able to locate him and talk to him.
EZ has been staying with us for almost a week and is doing suprisingly well considering his age (almost 70) and what just happened. He’s bonding with his grandkids, sleeping and resting. 
That being said, it will take several weeks for his 7 broken ribs to heal and to fully recover from this traumatic event. We are hosting him in our spare bedroom for a while.

This experience has made it evident to my dad that he cannot continue living in the woods or being homeless at his age and he’s motivated to try to find a safe and stable living situation. We are currently exploring buying a small bus or camper van that he could park at an RV park. He has a small amount of funds in the bank and receives a monthly social security check, but help needed to make this idea a reality.
