If you've been through Canterbury town, there's a high likelihood you know, or have seen Rob. For many years he worked on the doors of Poundland, stopping to talk to anyone and everyone he could. Whenever we were in town with Dad, it felt like he knew everyone and everyone knew him. They'd all come over for a chat and he knew everyone's names. Many have already left comments on how he would make their day better simply through having a conversation with them and wrote lovely stories of how he had helped them in some way. Alongside this, he was a great grandfather to all of his grandkids and was always there for all of them, whenever they needed; and they all of course, loved him very dearly, as did we. Unfortunately, on the 16/10/2024 Dad suddenly passed away. Obviously this was a major shock to all of us and we will continue to process this as a family, supporting each other. Dad was to turn 60 the day after he passed, and had spent the weeks before making sure we didn't somehow forget that; despite being adamant he wasn't a day over 21...
As I'm sure everyone can appreciate, we are dealing with this privately, having been such a shock; however, people did ask as to whether they could donate to help have something made in honour of Robert, so this page was created for those that did want to contribute in any way.
