Ezra and Ezekiel

Hello my name is Tina Klith and I’m fundraising for my brother Jamie Klith and wife Erika. On Sunday 10/16/22 all 4 children had bad cold/cough, Ezra the 1 year old was having trouble breathing and went to the Emergency at mercy. He was diagnosed with RSV and influenza A and was admitted. A couple of hours later Ezekiel the 2 month was having breathing problems so he too was brought to mercy ED.

Ezekiel started to detorriate so he was transferred to UIOWA PICU. A partial lung collapse happened. After having problems breathing and a high CO2 level they put him on RAM, a mechanical ventilator and intubated him. Continue to worsen and was on several sedation meds, blood pressure meds to try and stabilize him.

Currently Ezra is at Mercy Hospital still hospitalized but getting better. However, Ezekiel we don’t know how long or what the outcome will be for little baby as his status isn’t progressing in the direction it should. PICC line developed a blood clot. A last effort will be considering Ecmo.

This has been devastating for the family and very stressful. Financially taking a hit and don’t know what that burden could be.
