Ezra’s Road Home
Donation protected
My name is Emily and I am raising funds to help cover the costs of getting my horse back from a bad situation that involves an ongoing animal cruelty investigation by the OPP.
Ezra is only 5 years old and has been through a lot in the last few months and I am so grateful I’ve managed to find her and get her back. She will be getting all the love, attention, and treats she deserves.
*Edited to add more history on Ezra below for those who are interested.
This was an unforeseen circumstance and I was not anticipating these costs as I had sold her previously. Any funds will go toward the costs of getting her back: the cost of buying her back, trailering (14 hour round trip to pick her up), veterinary checks and attention , special farrier work, and anything else she may need to get her back to a good place.
Any funds in excess of what her care requires will be donated toward helping any other animals coming out of a situation like this.
Thank you for everyone’s help thus far, anything is appreciated ❤️
*I bought Ezra as an unhandled 4 year old ex bucking horse, and put in so much time, effort, and tears into getting her to trust humans. It took so much work just to be able to touch her for the first time. I went through every major milestone with this horses first experience with humans. I love her. She was being blanketed, caught in a huge field, running with her friends, trailering without issue, and I even got the to the point of backing her and riding her a handful of times. Due to a serious previous head injury (unrelated to her but in the time I owned her) and a spook that shook my confidence, I knew she was going to need a trainer to help me further her progress. I sent her to a trainer while under my ownership, but due to circumstances unrelated to her, the trainer was injured and Ezra had to come home early, but it was still costly financially. I did not have a lot of extra funds to send her off to more trainers so I began a casual search to finding a new knowledgeable home that could bring out the incredible potential I knew she had. I thought I had found a forever home for her with a reputable trainer who had the skills and ability to bring her along how she needed, because she is a very sensitive horse. I thought I was doing right by her and giving her the best shot at an amazing life, I was wrong. So when this all came out, I was shocked and sick and I knew she needed me and had to come home. She will never be at risk, she will never go through that again, this is my horse and she will be mine forever.
