Lewis the Cat Needs Surgery

Donation protected
Feline Friends of Sammamish is a dedicated volunteer group working as an offsite adoption center for Lewis County Animal Shelter.

Lewis the Cat came to us as a two year old stray kitty.    Even though he was homeless, he has the most endearing personality and loved by those of us fortunate enough to know him.

(Lewis at the Lewis County Animal Shelter when we picked him up)

Lewis arrived with a noticeable limp in his right rear leg that, on good days, prevents him from walking or jumping normally.  On bad days, he drags the injured leg behind unable to put weight on it.  It is hard for us to watch this wonderful kitty suffers quietly.

We have tried different remedies in hope of managing his pain without success.  Despite his issues, a kind and loving family decided to give Lewis a home.  Our team and his newly adopted family have sought advice from three clinics and were told that surgery is needed to repair the damage (his injury is the equivalent to an ACL injury in people). If not corrected, his condition will worsen and eventually become debilitating.

(Looking for attention)

The procedure to repair his leg is expensive (ranging from $2500-3800).  Our volunteer group is committed to raising money to help Lewis get the surgery he needs to live out the rest of his life without pain.

If all goes well, we hope to get Lewis his surgery in mid-February. We will keep you posted, and thanks so much for your support!
