Building Future Leaders, One Girl at a Time

We are a group of empowered women creating a GoFundMe supporting the education of the future of young girls in Ethiopia, whose voices are limited due to barriers. 64.21 million girls are affected by this lack of education, which is about 90% of the population. The absence of representation and socio-cultural factors, including displacement, disrupts girls' potential for the future.

By decreasing resource scarcity, we can improve important tools such as literacy rates and skills needed for the future. Developing an education for these young girls in Ethiopia would also help reduce poverty, improve health, and promote gender equality in the society. Encouraging education as an essential part of the community will embrace the power held within adolescent girls.

Our $500 funding goal goes towards resources and supplies, including writing utensils and core curriculum textbooks. This funding will also go toward classroom equipment, from desks to projectors and screens for digital learning. We will fuel and support girls’ education in Ethiopia through a non-profit organization, The Malala Fund. Malala formed this nonprofit to fight for “every girl's right to 12 years of free, safe, and quality education”. Together, we can make a difference.
