F - - K Cancer, organized by Rachael and Sarah

Two weeks ago, the Czarkowski family, Marc, Rebecca, Sam, Isaac, and Bella received the most devastating news that turned their world upside down in a matter of seconds; Marc, husband, father, uncle, and best friend to all who know him, was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Because of the severity of the disease, Marc can no longer work, leaving the family without a second income. Facing the unknown as they await more testing, we are trying to ease the financial burden by raising money so the family can face Marc's cancer head-on and focus all their attention on the long battle that lies ahead.

So far, this is what we know:

On Wednesday, July 5th, Marc had a PET Scan that showed a significant-sized tumor on his left lung, (pushing up against his heart and chest wall), as well as nodes on his right lung. The tumor's location makes it difficult to obtain the necessary tissue sample in order to diagnose the cancer's stage, whether it has metastasized, and the best course of treatment. Marc underwent a first biopsy attempt on Friday, July 7th which was unsuccessful. As a result, on Thursday, July 13th, Marc will undergo a second attempt to reach the larger tumor for biopsy.

We will be posting regular updates once all testing is complete, but for now, we need to begin fighting as best we can so Marc, Rebecca, Sam, Isaac, and Bella can focus on Marc's health and not finances.
