UPDATE: Unfortunately, Gabe has not been returned to his breeder. Lawsuits have been filed to fight to bring him home. My name is Teri Giesler. I am a life long dog lover and a 30 year Golden Retriever owner. I have had the privilege of owning Goldens from some magnificent breeders. I have started this GoFundMe for a dog of one of those wonderful people I have been fortunate enough to know and own not one but two of their pups. Bringing this pup home is important for breeders, ethical rescues and those of us wishing to adopt from either.

11 month old golden retriever Gabriel has found himself being held hostage by a 501c3 rescue near Pittsburgh, after being surrendered by his owners at Christmas time. His breeder, after searching for days for Gabe when she learned his owners abandoned him, finally found him and made immediate contact to bring Gabe home to Georgia where he was born. Unfortunately, the rescue owner is trying to keep Gabriel for herself instead of returning him to his rightful owner - his breeder. The breeder is desperately trying to uphold her puppy contract that clearly states Gabe is to be returned to her in the case of owner surrender. Attorney fees start at $5,000. This is an important precedent case for breeders and purebred dog lovers everywhere. If we join hands, and are successful in getting Gabe returned to his breeder, it paves the way for future cases like this one. Every dollar goes toward the legal fees ahead, and any funds left over will bw placed toward Gabe's transport home from Pennsylvania to Georgia, and helping Gabe re-acclimate to normal life in a loving home with his breeder, his mom Yeti, and his dad Tosh.
