Amanda’s Medical Bills

Hello, I’m raising funds to help my family with my mom’s medical bills. She has been hospitalized with pneumonia and is in severe sepsis. Things were pretty scary there for a bit and the hospital she went to initially was not capable of providing the care she needed to survive so she was airlifted to a larger hospital. She’s stable and improving now and we’re all thankful for that. She's expected to need to be on iv antibiotics for 4 weeks and will need lots of physical therapy and other kinds of care after her hospital stay is over. The hard work of recovery is in her hands and she’s strong and I know she can do it. We can’t do that part for her but what we can do is take the other worries off of her shoulders. All of those kinds of care she needs are expensive. She went into this with no medical insurance and while the case worker at the hospital is applying for every kind of assistance my mom might qualify for there’s still a good chance that there will be a lot of costs that won’t be covered. I’m hoping that our community of friends and family can raise some money to help my mom get through this time and not have to worry about that side of things so that she can put all of her energy into getting better.

Anything donated to this fundraiser will go directly to my mom and will be used to cover her medical bills and possibly some of the bills they’ve been unable to pay while my mom is out of work in the hospital and my dad is on a leave of absence by her side.
