Ironman for Appleton (COVID-19 fund)
Tax deductible
As we know COVID-19 has wreaked havoc throughout our country and in our community. The impact of the virus has touched our daily lives and changed our goals.
Over the past eight months, Ted Kedrowski and Jeff Squier have trained together to participate in the Wisconsin Ironman race the weekend of September 12-13. We recently learned the event was cancelled due to the risk of spreading COVID-19 among the the athletes and attendees who come to the race.
Needless to say, both of us were very dejected after we heard the news, but after talking about it, we decided to set up an Ironman course (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike & 26.2 mile run) in our community and complete the race on September 12th.
Since COVID-19 altered our plans, we decided to dedicate our race efforts to complete an Ironman race as a launching point to help our community eliminate COVID19's negaitve impact to the people of our community who must deal with COVID-19 everyday (essential workers, health care workers and there families).
The COVID-19 Community Response Fund was established by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities to support the immediate basic needs and assist in recovery for people in our community impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Please join us in making a difference by donating to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund for the Fox Valley Region. Ted and Jeff will each match the first $1000 dollars donated.
Your donation will help make an impact to those who keep us safe and are essential to keeping our community strong.
Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to our health and safety.
