Keatons journey

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Piper and I am fundraising for Keaton Rennie-Kay. On 25/7/2023 our good friend Keaton was involved in a motor vehicle accident near Wyee while travelling to work that left him seriously injured with a spinal cord injury. Keaton was transferred by Westpac helicopter from the accident site to John Hunter Hospital where he had surgery on his LHS leg and abdomen as these were immediately life threatening. He later had surgery on his jaw and spine as part of an L2 burst fracture. After 5 days in John Hunter Hospital he was transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital ICU. Keaton has since been moved into the spinal cord injury ward for recovery before going to a specialist hospital in Ryde for further rehabilitation. Keaton cannot move his legs and his recovery is envisaged to take many months at Royal North Shore Hospital following by months for rehabilitation in Ryde. Keaton cannot currently eat through his mouth due to his abdominal injury. They are hoping it heals naturally as further surgery carries its own risks. Keaton turns 21 in September and this has obviously made a dramatic impact on himself, family and friends. Keaton is a 4th year apprentice carpenter and we hope that one day he will be able to complete his apprenticeship having less than 6 months to go.

I have started this go fund me page in the hope to support some of Keaton’s financial needs in the future.
