War relief fund for Ukrainian feminists
Feminist Workshop is a non-governmental organization founded in 2014. Our mission: creation of a space for the feminist community development in Lviv and Ukraine. We are a grassroots based organization led by young girls, women, LGBTQI and internally displaced people. Here you can find more about our work and activities we were carrying out before the current war: https://femwork.org/about-us/
Our goal now is to support the community of feminist and LGBTQI activists in Lviv, Ukraine. We need to sustain our local support systems, and to continue coordinating and organizing first aid support for people in need as we heavily depend on them during this time of crisis .
Lviv is located in Western Ukraine, a few hours away from the Polish border, and it is a place for many refugees from the Eastern Ukraine to stop before they continue their refuge. Among these people are social justice activists from all over Ukraine, and they are volunteering with us to provide urgent support that is needed. The intensity of work and heavy lifting that activists are doing is tremendous.
What we ask you now is to contribute and support Ukrainian feminist and LGBTQI activists as they are supporting hundreds and thousands of people during this war.
This is what we organized to date as Feminist Workshop and a community of Ukrainian activists:
We provide temporary housing for people from different Ukrainian cities;
We coordinate transportation and evacuations with our international communities and partners;
We provide psychological support for activists.
In addition to this, in the future we aim to:
Organize a longer term housing of activists;
Organize a support group of refugees and diaspora in European Union;
Support women, girls and LGBTQI people.
The money received will be transferred to the organization "Feminist Workshop" and will be used for:
- payment for the work of coordinators
- payment for the rental of the shelter
Anna Shybyryn (aka Yosh) is a co-funder and head of Feminist Workshop, who has 12 years experience of organising and community building.
