Elliott family

I have sent up this gofundme to help my cousin and her family through their time of need. As they work on getting their son Jude better and able to come home.

The Joseph and Lori Elliott family is looking for financial assistance as their 12 year old son Jude is in the hospital.

When Jude was 17 days old he suffered a stroke and was life flighted to Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital. There they discovered Jude was born with a heart defect. At 21 days old he went through his first open heart surgery and has had an total of 5 open heart surgeries and multiple other procedures. The last open heart being in 2020. At the last surgery he had a pacemaker placed that helped with his heart function. They also discovered a leaky valve at this time but felt it could he corrected at a later date.

Jude started feeling bad on (12/22) and after a couple of days a phone call was made to his doctor they said to bring him to Houston which is a 2 hour drive from their home. This was on Christmas Eve and he has remained there. He has been diagnosed with heart failure. Jude had a procedure done yesterday (12/30/2022) they upgraded his pacemaker and placed more wires. The procedure went well. He will have an epidural for a couple days to keep him comfortable and let things heal. The plan for now is he will remain in the hospital until it is determined that his heart is strong enough. From there they will decide if he will be able to come home before he has to have his next procedure. If he comes home he will have a pic line to administer medication. He will have multiple weekly follow ups in Houston.

Funds will be used for food, lodging , fuel and any other expensive that may occur during Jude's journey. Currently both Lori and Joseph are at the hospital since things are unknown with no funds coming in. They are currently on a waiting list for a room at the Ronald McDonald house. Until they are approved their 13 year old son Isaiah, is staying with different family members in Houston so he is able to visit Jude in hospital. Isaiah and Devin (their 21 year old son) who lives in Houston being able to visit the hospital helps Jude mentally and emotionally.
