Shelters for Gaza's internally displaced

Donation protected
Dear Fellow Humans,
In the heart of the ongoing crisis in Gaza, our NGO, Survivors for Human Rights (SHR), is urgently calling for your support to provide temporary shelters, food, and medical supplies to the internally displaced families in Rafah. Witnessing the escalating humanitarian crisis, we are committed to scaling up our efforts to reach more families in dire need. Established in Brussels in 2023, SHR is dedicated to supporting human rights and providing immediate relief in Gaza. In collaboration with local committees, we ensure that every donation is efficiently used and directly contributes to life-saving supplies and support.
Over the past three months, Gaza has been a witness to immense suffering. With 25,000 Palestinians killed, over 60,000 injured, and more than 1.5 million displaced, the situation is beyond critical. The people, trapped with no exit through the Egypt border, are left with no choice but to seek refuge in Rafah, overwhelming the town with hundreds of thousands seeking shelter and necessities.
Since the onset of this crisis, we have managed to set up 82 tents, distributed over 100 food baskets, and provided crucial financial assistance to families in need. Despite these efforts, the need continues to grow exponentially. We aim to establish a temporary camp in Tal Al-Sultan area, providing tents ($150 each), food stations, weekly food packages and a central medical point. Our initial goal is to assist 1,000 families, but with your help, we can reach much more.

The impact of your donations can be observed as follows:
  • 120$: Funds one tent, offering a displaced family a safe place to stay.
  • 150$: Provides a food package sufficient for a family of five, ensuring their nutritional needs in these hard times.

In our commitment to not just provide shelter but also dignity and safety, we are extending our efforts beyond just tents. Each temporary shelter will be equipped with essential facilities:
• Solar-Powered Lights: To ensure safety and visibility during the night.
• External Bathrooms: To maintain hygiene and sanitation standards. Warm Daily Meals and Weekly Food Packages: To address the nutritional needs and ensure food security for each family.
This holistic approach aims at providing a semblance of normalcy and comfort in these challenging times. Efficient and Localized Tent Construction: "To expedite aid and bypass logistical challenges, we have arranged for the tents to be constructed within Gaza itself. This strategic decision allows us to bypass the complications at the Rafah border and deliver immediate assistance to those in need. By localizing construction, we also contribute to the local economy, providing employment opportunities under these dire circumstances.

Progress Update as of January 10th:
As of January 10th, our dedicated teams on the ground have initiated the construction of the first 100 tents, complete with solar-powered lighting and external bathroom facilities. This marks a significant milestone in our mission, but there is still much to be done. With your support, we can continue this momentum and reach our goal of aiding 1,000 families and beyond." These additions should provide potential donors with a clearer picture of the immediate actions and long-term goals of your project, emphasizing both the urgency and the practical aspects of your response to the crisis. Remember, regular updates and transparency about the progress of your project are key to maintaining donor engagement and trust.
The situation in Gaza is serious, and every donation brings us a step closer to providing relief and hope. Please donate and share our campaign. Your support can change lives and offer a glimmer of hope in these dark times.
Your generosity is not just a donation; it's a lifeline for those who have lost everything. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of thousands in Gaza.
Thank you for being on the right side of humanity.

Yours Sincerely;
SHR Team
