Cricket facility at Colonial Trail Elem School
Donation protected
Cricket is an increasingly popular sport in the Glen Allen community, and Colonial Trail Elementary School (CTES) is excited to announce the creation of a new cricket practice facility. This facility, a vision of Mr. Kevin Schatz, the principal of CTES, will provide a safe and accessible space for kids and adults to practice and play cricket.
We are grateful for the generosity of Mr. Schatz, for his contribution of $10,000 that he won as runner-up for the 2022-2023 REB Award for Distinguished Educational Leadership towards the development of this facility. We are also thankful to the Sports Club of Richmond, Richmond Strikers and the cricket community of Richmond for their support and expertise in building this facility. However, we need your support to raise an additional $18,500 to fully realize this vision.
Our plans for the facility include:
Two cricket batting cages/nets (12ft H x12ft W x 55ft L) for kids to practice during non-school hours. These cages can also be utilized for practicing other sports like baseball. The approximate cost for this is $6,500.
Setting up the pitch area with two concrete slabs of 40ft Lx 12 Ft W x 4 inches H. The approximate cost for this is $10,000.
Synthetic mats are to be laid on the concrete slab to set the pitch. The approximate cost for two mats is $6,500.
Two bowling machines for approximately $1,000.
Cricket gear for kids at CTES to play during school hours $2,500.
Upkeep and maintenance $2,000
Let's support our community cricket endeavor...right here at Colonial Trail Elementary School.
