Dpk House fire - every penny helps dramatically, thank you!

Hi everyone,
I have started this page for my Granda, a 77 year old resident in Downpatrick. On Thursday 28th November, he was met with an electric fire in his house that he has lived in for over 50 years. A home that has raised 4 children and many grandchildren.
On a personal level I hold so many fond memories of my Granda prancing around dressed as Santa around this time of year, brightening the whole street up year on year with his Christmas lights! But this home held so much more for him.
To have this happen at all is absolutely devastating but this time of year really hits home.
Sentimental photos ruined, which no amount of money can return but the fact my Granda made it out alive is the silvering lining.
In terms of the damage, the house is not liveable. A new roof is required throughout the bungalow, new kitchen, rewiring & new furniture needed throughout. It’s a shell of a home which my Granda has worked so hard for.
As a family I would like to thank the neighbours and any of the volunteers that have helped look after my Granda and salvage what remains could be gathered from the dust! A real sense of community has been shown and we are entirely grateful!
Appreciate its a lot to ask, so close to Christmas and everyone is finding it difficult. However any assistance in raising any amount of funds to restore my Granda’s home, we would be so appreciative! Our hearts are broken
I additionally would like to mention, as I would also be sceptical of these pages at times. The money raised is purely for the restoration of my Granda’s home. Unfortunately, the house insurance had expired and had not yet been renewed! This is the reasoning for the page, however I 100% appreciate some people’s reservations. As noted it’s really not ideal & a lesson for all to ensure our pensioners have the correct insurance in place.
Again, I just want to thank everyone for their generosity under these circumstances!
