Northern Rail Trail Extension

Tax deductible
The Northern Rail Trail (NRT) is the longest rail trail in New Hampshire, extending 59 miles from Lebanon to Boscawen. It has been recognized as “The Best Bike Trail in NH” by Yankee Magazine and was added to the list of Top 100 Rail Trails in the country by the Rail to Trails Conservancy in 2015 and was nominated for the Conservancy’s Hall of Fame in 2021!

A long-term goal of The Friends of the Northern Rail Trail (FNRT) has been to complete the NRT through Boscawen to the Concord city line, six-tenths of a mile, and connect to the eventual Merrimack River Greenway Trail.

The FNRT has donated the $110,000 it has raised to the NH Dept. of Transportation to purchase the right-of-way. On 3/12/22 we received notice that the sale is complete and the deed has been transferred  to the State! (The DOT now owns the NRT from Lebanon to the Concord city line)

The Friends should be able to begin construction of the Trail to Hannah Dustin Island this summer! (Photo above) .

FNRT has already raised the $19,000 needed to construct the  gravel Trail up to the island.

FNRT is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Thank you in advance for your support in helping to extend the NRT!

Come enjoy the Northern Rail Trail!
