Gina’s Mountain Bike Accident

Hello! My name is Myles Nelson and on Saturday, August 5th, my mom was in a pretty severe mountain bike accident. She suffered multiple compound fractures in her left leg, and is still recovering in the hospital in Boise. As many of you know, Gina Nelson is the most strong and courageous woman. However, this accident has suspended her ability to work as she is self-employed. According to the surgical team at St. Alphonsus, she will be unable to walk for around 12 weeks depending on her healing journey. She will also require another surgery to fix the two fractures in her leg in the next couple of weeks. My mom has taken care of me and our family our entire lives, so I’m raising funds in hopes that I can help ease some of her stress during this traumatic time. One of the first thing she said after the accident while covered in dirt and blood was “Do you think I can see clients on Monday? I bet I can.” She is dedicated and determined to get back to her life as soon as possible, but must heal properly before doing so. She is bummed, disheartened, but above all, grateful to be alive.
