Kyle's Cancer Journey

Hi, my name is Kaila Simpson, As some of you know my brother Kyle Simpson has been recently diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. He is a loving husband, son, brother and uncle and has a long journey ahead of him. Money shouldn't be and issue sadly in order to get the care he needs the financial cost is alot which is why we need your help. 

Due to the low number of adult cases with this type of cancer the treatments need to be conducted at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton until they determine how his body will react to the drugs used. The treatment plan they have for him will consist of 2 different drug protocols of 13 treatments each lasting well over a year with 2-3 weeks inbetween for his body to bounce back. The first two need to be in Edmonton. Then hopefully they can be done closer to home in Grande Prairie AB.

Up until now:

•  They've removed a tumour the size comparable to a football from his shoulder which then ended up infected which he was then airlifted to Edmonton and treated their for 3 weeks. 
• In early June he realized he needed to take time off and let his body heal and fight the infection. 
• As of July the infection has been cleared up, and an IVAC line was put in his chest 
• First chemo treatment August 5th completed
• Next chemo August 29,30,31 in Edmonton.

We will also be putting on a benefit dance in Fairview AB August 26th.
