Help my Family Evacuate Gaza
Donation protected
Dear friends and supporters,
My name is Sabrin Alsheikh Ahmed. I am from Khan Yunis in Gaza. I am currently studying in the United States as a Fulbright scholar. I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart during this difficult time in Gaza and seeking your assistance to raise funds for the emergency evacuation of my ten family members: my father, Mohammad (64 years old); my mother, Etimad (51 years old); my brother, Saeed (27 years old); my sister, Asmaa (23 years old); my sister Hadeel (22 years old); my brother, Mahmoud (19 years old); my sister, Nadia (17 years old); my brother-in-law, Abdulraheem (30 years old); my brother-in-law, Hazim, (27 years old); my nephew, Aser, (1 year old).
The funds will be used for border crossing fees and temporary accommodation.
Since October 2023, my family has been caught in the devastating crossfire of the Israeli occupation in Gaza. My family has had to evacuate their home and seek shelter in a school and have since been evacuated again and now live in a tent. The places where they sought safe shelter are continuing to be targeted. Tragically, my brother Ahmed was killed as a result of this brutal violence in late February. Ahmed’s absence leaves an indescribable void in our hearts. Our once vibrant neighborhood now lies in ruins. Our home, where memories were etched into every corner, stands partially destroyed. Our grandparents’ home, a sanctuary of love and wisdom, was turned to rubble, leaving us with nothing but memories. The cover photo of this fundraiser shows our destroyed home.
The lives of my family members have been shattered, and the pain they’ve endured is beyond words. Forced to flee our home, my family, including my 10 family members and a 1-year-old nephew, left behind everything we hold dear. For over five months now, they’ve been living in a tent, struggling to survive amidst the chaos.
Emergency Evacuation
My family never wanted to be forced out of Gaza. However, due to the increasingly dangerous and violent conditions, I am desperate to help them find safety. My immediate goal is to secure a safe passage out of Gaza to Egypt via the Rafah crossing. But I cannot do it alone. The financial burden is overwhelming. It costs $5,000 per adult and $1,500 per child, so the total is $46,500.
These funds will be used for transportation, permits, and crossing fees required at the Egypt-Gaza border. I am willing to provide proof that the funds will be used exclusively for the purpose explained in this statement. The funds will be delivered through a US-based humanitarian organization that has access to Gaza and evacuates children in need of medical care to Egypt, Jordan, and the United States.
Thank you to everyone who donates or shares the link with those who can help my family. I can’t do this without you.
