Fabian Villafuerte Memorial Fund

My brother, Fabian Villafuerte who is only 25 years old has been battling with cancer since July of 2019. He was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and in the span of a year and 3 months he has been through; 3 sets of chemotherapy, 2 sets of radiation, a bone marrow transplant, and 4 surgeries one being to remove a tumor from the back, right side of his head. You could imagine how much his body has been through in such a short amount of time. Yet, we have never doubted that Fabian could not fight this because even with all the pain, the weight loss, depression, and the anxiety, he managed to always keep his bright smile through it all. He even did his very best through this tough journey, to love and raise his only baby boy who is 4 years old. His motivation is always to keep fighting for himself, and our family. And truthfully, he did put up a strong fight.. but sadly his cancer kept returning, but each time more aggressive. They had told us that the chemotherapy stopped working which is why we tried the bone marrow transplant, since it was our last option and it had a high percentage of working. But, unfortunately during his second session of the bone marrow transplant he started to have complications, and on August 29th 2020 his heart stopped for 8 minutes before they brought him back. After coming off of life support, he began to eat less, and drink less, so he lost a lot of weight and lost very much his strength. The doctors had called my parents in on October 6th 2020 to tell them his cancer had spread to his liver, bladder, kidney, lungs, and the back of the left side of his head. They told us they were not able to do anything because of the state his body is in, so they gave Fabian 6 months to live. Fabian is a smart man so although with the state he is in, he knew what was going on and he apologized to my parents, his fiancé, my siblings and myself, that he is sorry but he fought as hard and as long as he could but there is just no more fight in him anymore. So his wish was to come home on hospice to live the rest of the time he has left, at home with his family. Although receiving the heart breaking news of him only having 6 months, that didn't stop my family and I from praying everyday for a miracle that he get better and stronger. But it's been 3 weeks with having Fabian back home with us, in which the first week he was doing good, but the past two weeks he's been throwing up his medications, barely eating, drinking very little, and he sleeps throughout the whole day. The nurse that comes in to check up on him informed us that these were not good signs of him getting better, which meant that his time would be even more limited than the 6 months the doctor had estimated. This completely broke our hearts as we had hoped for a miracle and we just thought we would have him here with us longer than just the little time he has been home. My family and I have just been taking it day by day with Fabian doing everything we can to take good care of him and just doing our best to make him as comfortable as possible. 

My family and I are starting this go fund me in hopes and prayers that we could have a beautiful and well organized funeral for Fabian when the time comes. He is such an amazing Fighter, Son, Grandson, Father, Brother, Fiancé, Nephew, and Cousin. Anything will truly help our family in such a devastating time.
