FACCIA BRUTTO SPIRITS
Owned and operated by chef Patrick Miller of Rucola restaurant, Faccia Brutto Spirits is an Italian Spirits company focused on artisanal, handcrafted Italian liqueurs.
After working for 17 years in the hospitality industry at some of the worlds best restaurants, he has decided to focus on creating Italian liqueurs. What started out as tinkering with cocktail bitters turned into a full blown obsession. He has been focused for the last 5 years on creating recipes for 4 different products that will flesh out the opening lineup of his product line.
Aperitivo
24% Abv
15 selected roots, herbs, and citrus
A ruby red, bitter Aperitivo with focused bitterness, warm spices and balanced sweetness with a pleasant bitter orange finish. Enjoyed either with soda, in an Americano or Negroni with some cicchetti or arancini.
Amaro Gorini
34%Abv
25 selected roots, herbs and citrus
A bittersweet amaro with a bitter backbone provided by gentian, rhubarb root, and anjelica. Aged in charred American oak for 6 months to develop sweetness and mellow out the botanicals. Notes of rich vanilla and smoke on the finish. Enjoyed neat or in a cocktail preferably after dinner.
Nocino
21%Abv
Selected nuts and botanicals
A liqueur made from green, unripe walnuts harvested in mid-June. They are steeped for two weeks with warm spices like cinnamon, allspice, clove and vanilla, and then aged in American oak for a minimum of 6 months to concentrate the flavor. Since this is a seasonal product, production will be limited and limited to a small bottling. Ideally enjoyed neat after a meal.
Fernet Pianta
35%Abv
43 selected roots, herbs, and citrus
A recipe based on one made by his grandfather Peter Pianta for his grandmother when she needed a digestive. This fernet is lighter in style than most and is meant to be enjoyed neat, or in a cocktail. It’s made to sip on lazy afternoons or enjoyed after a festive meal.
We are beginning the funding stage and looking to start production in the Fall of 2018!
Updates will be monthly or as they occur.
