Face Shields for Frontline Professionals
Donation protected
What? Productions questioned how our team of artists could use its maker skillset to help the Columbus, Ohio community. We wanted to use our new-found time to help others in this time of need.
Our partners in the Columbus community expressed a need for protective gear, and we’re happy to step in.
We are making face shields to donate to frontline medical professionals outside the major hospital networks helping COVID-19 patients. While major hospital systems are able to meet their needs, we are helping meet the needs of nursing homes, private practices, and others that lack sufficient PPE.
Due to growing demand, we are raising additional funds for the production of 1,200 face shields.
The What? Productions team is looking for corporate and individual donations to purchase needed supplies for face shields (plastic, foam, elastic), tools, shipping, and labor. The production cost for a single mask is $6.
The Process
- Headpiece made via injection molding
- Faceguard is laser cut
- Hand assembly of parts, band, and foam
