Face Shields for Frontline Workers
Donation protected
SOMA NJ 3D Printers Alliance provides NIH reviewed and recommended FACE SHIELDS, free of charge, to front line workers during the 2020 novel Coronavirus public health crisis.
- $1 - average cost to produce and deliver 1 face shield
- $20 - clear front covers for 100 shields
- $30 - filament to 3D print 100 frames
As of May 7th 2020, 20,368 face shields have been assembled and delivered to hospitals in New Jersey and New York.
We are all volunteers from different walks of life. The group started in South Orange and Maplewood townships in New Jersey and now has volunteers throughout the state.
We are grateful for any amount – no contribution is too small!
SOMA NJ 3D Printers Alliance is a group of volunteers united by a cause, not a formal not-for-profit organization. We are collaborating with Achieve Foundation of South Orange and Maplewood, a 501(c)3 organization, who are able to issue tax deductible receipts for donations of $250 and higher made after 4/22/2020. If you are planning to donate $250 or more and would like a tax deductible receipt, please go to their donation page , check "other" and enter "3D Printer Alliance" in the note. ALL of the funds will pass through to us.
Thank you all for your support and generosity. Please keep spreading the word. We can only do this with the community support!
