RFA FACE OFF Fund
Donation protected
The RFA Ice Hockey Booster Club has set up a fund in honor of Coach Pete Mastracco, who had been battling colon cancer since 2007. Sadly, Coach Mastracco's courageous battle with cancer ended on August 12, 2016.
A new tradition began in 2014 in which an annual "Colon Cancer Awareness" game will benefit research in finding a cure as well as educating others of the risks and symptoms of this terrible disease. In 2014 RFA Faced Off Against CNS. Over $22,000 was raised in honor of Coach Mastracco. In 2015 RFA Faced Off Against West Genny and $5,500 was raised. In the 2016-17 RFA Faced Off Against FM and $3,000 was raised.
The RFA Hockey Booster Club donated proceeds from the 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2019-20 seasons to local people battling cancer. Also, a donation for $2,500 for a bench purchase in memory of Coach Pete was made to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation. Coach Pete was treated at Roswell Park.
After a 1 year hiatus due to COVID, the benefit game will be played on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 7:00 pm. The fund remains open and all donations will continue to support organizations searching for a cure and those individuals battling cancer.
Come and support your RFA Black Knights as they continue their messaging of "Get Checked From Behind". RFA will Face Off against Liverpool on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 7:00 pm
