Shields for Manchester Healthcare Workers
Donation protected
Hi all, we are a small group based in Manchester, UK, with a few printers set up printing face shields to distribute to front line workers lacking the necessary PPE gear.
We have already printed and distributed over 1000 face shields and given them directly to people who had not been given appropriate gear and yet are expected to continue working.
These include; nurses, A&E departments, paramedics, GP's, care homes, intensive care units, mobile nursing groups, COVID response teams, caregivers, nurseries and more, limited only by the speed of our printers.
Most of these people have been in contact with contagious persons, putting them highly at risk of contracting the disease.
The need for face shields has never been greater and demand is increasing rapidly. Unfortunately, our ability to make them is limited by our printer capacity, so to step up we are adding printers to get to 2000 given away as fast as possible!
This page has been set up both for those at home wanting to contribute to the cause and also to those who have received our PPE and wish to put money towards further distributions.
All money will go towards more materials, print supplies and potential replacement parts. Any excess will be sent on to other organised groups also providing gear for front line workers, such as the local (to us) Create Oldham and the Joint Dental and Medical 3D Printers initiative (UK/worldwide support).
