A Cry for Help: Overwhelmed and Fighting to Survive
I never imagined I would be in a position where I would need to ask for help, but life has thrown more at me than I can handle on my own. I am a Black, disabled individual who has faced one hardship after another, and I am now at a breaking point. I have no family to turn to, and I am desperately reaching out for support.
A few years ago, after being the victim of a violent SA and developing long lasting conditions as a result, I started saving for a series of surgeries that will improve my quality of life with my disabilities. However, my savings have been wiped out by a series of financial disasters that I had no control over. First, I was charged £7,000 through the court for a university year I did not attend. Then, a company I worked for charged me an additional £5,000, which completely obliterated the little I had left. These unexpected debts have left me with nothing to live on.
My life has been a struggle, especially after fleeing a tumultuous and unsafe home situation. Now, I am on the verge of homelessness, with debts surmounting £10,000. I’ve explored every option available to me and have been applying for jobs across every industry you can think of for the past six months. But in this difficult economy, I haven’t been able to secure employment, and I’m finding it harder and harder to see a way out.
I am currently living off of nothing, with no money for food or basic necessities. I feel the light draining from my future, and I don’t know where to turn. I am reaching out for your support so that I can get out of my current living situation, buy myself some food, and start rebuilding my life.
Your generosity could be the lifeline I desperately need. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring me closer to stability and give me a chance to get back on my feet. I am truly grateful for any help you can provide.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you for your support.
