Facing Hardship: Divorce Attorney Retainer Fee

I need $7500 for a retainer fee for a new lawyer. This is a plea for help from a woman who has exhausted all of her resources, is working long hours, and needs to break through a massively challenging divorce in order to stay afloat. It has been two and a half years and I am stuck in a pattern that is not moving forward. My only way out is to secure a new lawyer who will work more effectively for me, and I am raising money for the retainer fee.

I was already struggling to pay mortgage and bills by myself before entering the divorce process, but the costs of monthly support checks to my exhusband on top of lawyer fees are too much. My current lawyer doesn't respond to emails, doesn't tell me what to expect or if I have to appear in court, and has continued my case time and time again. I'm seeking a new lawyer who will move this case to settlement.

The process is wreaking havoc on me. These expenses are WAY out of my budget as a civil service employee. I have already maximized credit cards and am desperately juggling bills to keep food on my own table and support my very modest life. I have stopped all retirement contributions and no longer go out to eat unless a friend pays for me (which is shameful so I typically avoid it unless I have enough money from turning in recycling). I have resorted to selling possessions. The divorce is putting me at risk of losing my house in addition to having already lost so much.
