Faculty For Flint
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Dr. Lori Patton Davis. I am an associate professor in the Indiana University School of Education. My professional interests revolve around issues of equity and social justice. However, I firmly believe that such interests should not be confined to the academy. Instead the research, teaching and service required of faculty should extend into and inform policies and practicies affecting our surrounding communities. As faculty, we make presentations, give keynote addresses, and speak as local and national experts on a host of topics. Let's move beyond talking about social justice and "do" social justice. We must acknowledge that the situation in Flint has implications for us all and I want to encourage us all to engage in an act of solidarity!
I am challenging all of my faculty colleagues, regardless of field of study, discipline, or institution to join me in raising money to support the community of Flint, MI. All proceeds of this fundraiser will be donated directly to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund . The goal is to raise $10,000 by February 28, 2016. Any amount will make a significant difference. Once you take the challenge, please share the the link and challenge others.
If you're not faculty, but still believe in social justice and want to join this effort, your donations are also appreciated.
