Help the Aburamadan Family Evacuate From Gaza

Personal plea from Ola Aburamadan

Help Us Survive Please!

"What a beautiful life it was before the war, help us to begin again" Aburamadan family.

It was 11 pm. first days of the war, the family was asleep. Suddenly, huge explosions everywhere, the youngest daughter Sarah (12 years) panicked and the whole family started shouting in panic, checking if others were okay.
The father Dr. Wael (72 years) who has high pressure blood and heart disease, hurried to check on the little one and calm her down and checked on everyone else. Then asked the family to gather in the corridor (center of the house and protected by walls). The electricity went off.''

Minutes later Dr. Wael received a call from the building guard to evacuate immediately. This is how their journey of displacement started. Dr. Wael took Sarah's hand, and the sons Mohammed (agriculture Eng. 33), Bashar (civil Eng. 28) and Basel (IT Eng. 24) (the Lusher's former exchange student), helped their mother Eman (teacher, 56) who also has high blood pressure and bad knees to get downstairs from the 7th floor. While Ola (English teacher, 29 years) released her bird and said "goodbye house" and closed the door after everyone got out.

They all went down to see all the people are in the street in the darkness under the military plans and airstrikes, and buildings around them were being bombarded with rockets pouring down from the sky with all the glass and rubbles. They couldn't return home ever since.

Ever since that horrible day their family kept evacuating, at least for 7 times from a street to another, and then for 2 times from a city to another. Finally, they went to a tent in Al-Mawasi on Rafah's northern border far away from home.
Al-Mawasi is an isolated area where there's no food or water, no clothes, no electricity, no internet and no signal to call other family members or friends.
To get some water they needed to walk 500 meters under the sun or the rain, and so as to get anything else we needed.
This area is full of snakes, mice and dangerous types of insects that causes illnesses. This lead to Ola contracting Hepatitis A and needing medical treatment that is very difficult to access and so she has been seriously ill. And the rest of her family has also been suffering from skin diseases due to lack of clean water.
We should mention that the Aburamadans always helped others and contributed in charity institutions.
And even now during the war, Basel decided to continue his voluntary work by distributing food parcels with his teammates in a humanitarian international institution.

Moreover, with no schools left to students (they are either destroyed or filled with displaced people), Ola decided to continue teaching English to children in her tent to save them from the streets. She believes that they were deprived of their right of education, and that children belonged to schools.
Until she was diagnosed with Hepatitis A and couldn't find medication.
Now, the Aburamadan family needs your help.

There's only one way we can escape this hell, by paying $6000 for each member of the family to a travel agency that delivers us safely to Egypt. Unfortunately, they can't provide this amount of money.

The drones that are flying over them are very scary as they know they bring death and destruction.

Basel unfortunately lost his fiance and 30 more of her family in a brutal airstrike. Basel says: "more than 37,000 were killed and counting, 70% of them are women and children, and I'm afraid that my family could be next".

Please, help us rebuild our life again.
ANY donation is appreciated, a dollar from each person who sees this makes a big difference.
And in the end "sympathy is what we need my friend" the Beatles.

Hi, we are the Lushers, Leonard and Inge, we live in Redding California, USA, and are fundraising to assist the Abu Ramadans, a family of 7, to evacuate from Gaza to Egypt. In 2014 their youngest son Basel (in the main photo: first young man on the right wearing a striped shirt) came to live with us through a Student Exchange Program. We've stayed in touch all these years. His family are good, peaceful people caught in this nightmare they've been living for months now. We are their only hope to raise the funds they need. The conditions they live in are unimaginable!
Please donate, if you're willing and able, so they can get to safety. Any amount WILL help, $5, $10, or $1000, and is so appreciated!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Images of their neighborhood - their own home is 70% damaged and uninhabitable.

Update 11/3/2024 from Inge Lusher:
The Aburamadans are still trying to survive near Khan Younis. Basel recently shared that they are now inundated with rats and other critters of the earth because of all the filth everywhere. It makes it difficult to sleep. It is very difficult to imagine the conditions in Gaza. There is garbage everywhere, so many dead are still buried under rubble - it's no wonder the vermin are coming in troves.
Basel is trying to leave the area via a scholarship to a university in England or Ireland. He's applied and so far has been accepted to the University of York as well as the University of Loughborough, both in England. He wants to continue his studies and pursue a Masters' degree in Software Engineering. He has dreams and goals for his life that he is going to pursue to the best of his ability. The rest of his family still wants to emigrate to Egypt. Gaza is no longer a place where they will be able to live. The destruction is such that it will take decades to rebuild and for people to make a life for themselves again. I have wired all the funds received to date to his father's bank so they can afford to survive. Exploitation is ongoing. I am hopeful that we can continue to raise funds to aid in their survival and maybe even have something left to assist Basel in traveling to Europe so he can start a new life. Every penny donated goes 100% to this family. We also appreciate all prayers and encouraging messages. They've been suffering for over 1 year now and there is still no end in sight. If you read this GoFundMe and are willing to share it, please do. We appreciate that as well. We are forever grateful for all the received support to date and are praying for continued support.
Thank you for reading our GoFundMe!
