Fairport Odyssey of the Mind Travels to World Finals in Iowa

Help send the Fairport Odyssey of the Mind teams to the World Finals!
This year, TWO Fairport teams qualified to advance to the WORLD Finals, competing against over 40 teams in NY State! Both teams took first place in their divisions at the Greater Rochester Regional Tournament in March, qualifying them for the New York State Finals in April. There, they competed against teams from across the state and again qualified to advance to the next level of competition! The teams from Fairport High School and Brooks Hill Elementary School will travel together to compete and represent our schools and town at the World Finals in Iowa, May 21st through May 24th!
Odyssey of the Mind (OOTM) is a creative problem-solving program for students K-12. It combines art, science, engineering, performance, and teamwork. It is exclusively student-led; no outside assistance is allowed from parents or adults! Teams select 1 of 5 problems to solve and must present their solution in the form of an 8-minute skit. Teammates work collaboratively to create their own props, costumes, set, script, and required engineering elements. They also must compete in “spontaneous” competitions where they creatively solve an unknown problem on the spot.
Fairport Odyssey of the Mind is a 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions are tax deductible. Your generous donation will help offset the cost of registration, travel, housing, food, and more! Fairport High School and Brooks Hill OOTM teammates are beyond appreciative of your support as they fundraise for this unique opportunity!!
