Help us sustain our harvest and secure our home.

Hello everyone,

We are Mara Osero, a Community-Based Organization (CBO) based in Kenya. Our project is centred on self-sufficiency, and we maintain a large garden that allows us to live off our harvests. We live in the north of the Maasai Mara reserve, right in the heart of nature.

Imagine a day of work from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., labouring by hand with a jembe and a machete... It's far from easy, especially when you have a large plot of land to maintain. Although we welcome tourists and volunteers to our eco-village, it doesn't allow us to save enough money to advance our project.

Today, we dream of investing in a hand tractor and a four-stroke brush cutter, equipped for weeding, tilling, edge trimming, and pruning. These tools would be essential in lightening our daily workload and increasing our productivity.

We also live amidst wildlife. To protect ourselves, we have installed electric fences, but vegetation grows quickly and prevents the electricity from flowing. If this continues, we risk having wild animals enter our camp, destroy our garden, and trample our crops. Imagine elephants and baboons feasting on our harvests...

Your support would be invaluable. In Belgium, this might seem accessible, but in Kenya, such machines are costly, especially for a farmer. Your contribution can truly make a difference in helping us continue to live in harmony with nature while ensuring our livelihood.
