Faith and family oriented Cop faces brain tumor!

Tax deductible

George Cumberledge has spent his life as a dedicated man of service to his community, church, family, and friends. George has faithfully served his community as a Law Enforcement Officer for both the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office from 2004-2017 and currently as a Lieutenant with the Leesburg Police Department since 2017. He’s an active member of his church, youth soccer coach, dog trainer, and most importantly a loving husband to LCPS Elementary School Teacher Erin Cumberledge and Dad + Bonus Dad to their 5 kids.

On August 20th, the Cumberledge Family’s life was turned upside down in a matter of hours. While coaching a soccer game, George suffered a stroke, and upon tests at the hospital it was discovered that the cause was two large masses on the left side of his brain.

George underwent brain surgery 24 hours later, and is currently recovering from both that surgery, as well as the impacts from the stroke. Now that the cause of the masses has been determined, George will be undergoing radiation and immunotherapy treatments once his body has healed enough to begin them.

It goes without saying, that the impacts both financially and logistically to the family are immense, and for all that George has contributed to our community and lives, our hope is to see that reciprocated back to him and his family in this time of need.

The Loudoun Dulles Fraternal Order of Police stands with our brother and his family and request your assistance in supporting this officer and his family during this very trying time.

All donations will go to help supplement loss of income while out of work, medical bills, transportation to and from the hospital and appointments for the foreseeable future, and help the family apply their focus and attention on George’s recovery instead of how to afford it. While this has been an overwhelming and scary time for their family, their faith is unshakeable and we know there’s nothing that they cannot overcome with the love and support of those around them. Thank you in advance for anything you are able to do!
