Faithies Fundraiser

Faith is a 10 y/o girl who was born with the worst case of Spina Bifida. Although she could move her legs at birth, she required surgery at just 18 hours old! Following that surgery it was discovered that Faith was paralyzed from the hips down. 

Faith has struggled through various complications in her 10 years, the worst being 2 years ago when she suffered from several bouts of Osteomyelitis and a large wound at her L3 (spine) level that required surgery and left her unable to do anything for 3 summer months while she healed. Her wound is back again and she actually has two wounds this time with 7 inches of tunneling in between. She is looking at another surgery to hopefully fix this wound which will be her 8th surgery in 10 years. 

We are trying to make Faith's life a bit easier by renovating a bathroom for her. She currently does not have one she can use. We also want to get Faith a stand-up wheelchair which will help relieve the pressure on her bottom, decrease the wound and help her general health. Her family also needs a wheelchair van which will allow her to be more mobile. She has missed out on many activities because her parents are the only ones who can lift her in and out of her chair and in and out of the car. It is getting more difficult for them to do this as she gets older and heavier.
