Faith's Breast Cancer Fight

Update: Faith is currently waiting on an appointment for a second opinion. The Dr she us currently seeing seem to be giving up in a way. Only offering hormone therapy and bone strengthening injections. Her and her family feel something should be in progress to try and shrink the tumors on her bones. Hello to all, my name is Devon. I have been trusted with the task of creating this gofundme for a woman who is an absolute warrior. My best friend, Faith.

Let me tell you a little about Faith. In the 33 years she has been around this woman has showered love, compassion and loyalty onto the ones she loves. Her husband, Neil, has been her sweetheart for 14 years and counting. Due to a tragedy in her family in 2019, Faith and Neil stepped up and adopted a 4 month old baby girl who was left motherless. Medora, who is now a spritely 3 year old. Faith had problems conceiving in the previous years so having the chance to mother Medora was a blessing in disguise. She has dedicated every moment since that day to raising Medora with all the love she has to give. When I say Faith loves with her whole self, she truly does. Selfless and compassionate. She has a beautiful support system involving her attentive mother and father, Brenda and Scott. As well as her "little" sister and fiancé, Ashley and Shane. And many more from her family. Faith comes from a wonderful family who have helped form her into who she is today, an amazing mother, daughter, sister, wife, and friend. 

   She has been there for myself and my children on many occasions that we had no one to help or turn to. Attending elementary graduations, school concerts and events, first days of school, transportation for my kids to appointments. This woman has gone above and beyond to make sure my children know they are loved. She is the first person to jump to the aid of her loved ones, even strangers when she is able. You can imagine how many people have been affected and touched by such a bright soul that is Faith.

This year towards the end of June after some blood work and a biopsy of a tumor in her left breast, Faith was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. At first with what knowledge the doctors had, she was told she had stage 1 breast cancer. During the month of July she endured multiple tests resulting in the need for a mastectomy for her left breast. At the end of July she had her mastectomy surgery. During the surgery her doctor had multiple lymph nodes tested to see if the cancer had spread past the breast. 8 lymph nodes were tested and all 8 came back positive for the disease. 3 were removed during the end phase of the mastectomy. Faith went from stage 1 to stage 3 in the hours of her surgery. More tests were ordered, echo; P.E.T scan; MRI and more. She discussed and scheduled the start of her Chemotherapy, hormone therapy (to push her into menopause), and radiation. She started chemotherapy on 8/26/2022. A few days before her first treatment she was informed that the cancer has spread not only to the lymph nodes by her left breast but also into her spine, right side ribs, right side hip and right side scapula. Officially making her stage 4 breast cancer metastasized into bones. The lesions discovered are not small so on 8/29/2022 Faith underwent a bone biopsy. There is no cure, no surgery to make this go away.

During these months Faith has unfortunately stacked up bills. Her insurance is covering a large portion of her tests, surgeries and therapies. But like most insurance, it does not cover it all. Having a home to pay for and care for, a child to care for and these medical bills it has been a hardship financially. On top of it the emotional, mental and physical weight her and her loved ones are enduring.

Faith is not a person to ask for help or handouts and it took a long while of thinking before she decided it was something they needed. Please donate, share, spread the word that this family needs some support.
