Faith's Fight For Life

Our Mother, Faith, needs help and time is of the essence.
She has stage 4 liver Cancer that has spread rapidly from her bladder to her liver.
She has battled through several rounds of chemotherapy that until recently been shrinking the tumors with huge success over the course of nearly three years.
Her last CT imaging was devastating, showing tumors in her liver. After a biopsy, the results showed Cancer.
A diagnosis of liver Cancer has been considered a death sentence. Until recently, Cancer in the liver was incurable. Amazingly, now there is a total cure available.
Immunotherapy has changed how cancer is treated and it is saving lives, leaving stage 4 (end-stage) patients with total remission and cancer free for years.
Unfortunately, immunotherapy is very expensive and insurance only covers $7900 of the $11,000 per dose.
Yesterday her oncology visit was supposed to be the day she received her first treatment of the new drug. Instead, she was informed that there was an error in the form submitted and the approval process has started over. She was given the option to start the treatment without insurance coverage. After informing them that she could not afford the high cost she was sent home.
Hospice and end-of-life care support info was given to her. There is no time left to wait for the process. She will wait for the approval, but death will come first...
If you know our Mom, Faith, just the thought of her name brings a smile. She does anything to help anybody, never expecting anything in return. She would rather die, literally, than ask for help. She doesn't want to burden anyone. To us the only burden would be is, if she wasn't with us anymore.
Faith is a proud woman. She is the one you call at 2 am in tears. Her loyalty will break your clocks. Today, she needs us.
Like her granddaughter said, "In this situation, it's better to ask for forgiveness instead of permission. So that's what we will do".
We are only asking to cover the first 3 doses until her secondary insurance approves the remaining $2100 for each dose. The funds raised will go to her treatment. She can have her first dose as soon as today.
