Fakebba Barrow Spinal Surgery
Donation protected
Hello, I hope you are all doing well in these uncertain times. I have set up this GoFundMe as my nephew Fakebba who lives in The Gambia was involved in a devastating car accident as a passenger 3 months ago. Following scans taken at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in The Gambia he was found to have severely fractured his spine (please see images attached) and experienced traumatic spinal chord injury. Fortunately, as a family, we were able to fund his first operation. Following this, he has spent weeks in hospital and is still unable to sit assisted for a period any longer than 10 minutes, is non-functional below the waist and is desperately in need of a second round of vital surgery in order to regain lower limb function. This cannot be provided in The Gambia due to their limited medical facilities and he instead needs to travel to Turkey to receive this treatment. As you can imagine as a family we are struggling to fund the costs of his travel and care and would be so grateful for your support. Fakebba is an extremely talented aspiring football player as well as a kindhearted, hardworking young man and is in desperate need of this extensive medical care. Anything you can donate would be very much appreciated and will change my nephews life entirely.
