Falkirk Schools Pipe Band - New York Tartan Day 2025

The Falkirk Schools Pipe Band is made up of pupils from across different schools in the Falkirk Council area. The band is in just its second year of competing, and they have achieved much, taking home a total of seven trophies in 2024, from the Gourock Highland Games, the Cowal Highland Gathering and the Peebles Highland Games. They also competed at both the European and World Pipe Band Championships.

In addition to learning a life long skill, members gain confidence and make new friends through piping and drumming, travelling all over Scotland to play at piping events and Highland gatherings. They also frequently support local events at schools and in the wider community.

The band has an amazing opportunity in April 2025, when they will travel to New York to participate in the world-famous Tartan Day celebrations.

This once-in-a-lifetime experience will see the Falkirk Schools Pipe Band performing in the centre of New York City, alongside other schools from across Scotland.

Tartan Week is a major international event celebrating Scottish heritage and culture, and for these pupils, it's not only a chance to showcase their talent but also to represent their community on a global stage.

They have been busy fundraising to ensure that everyone in the band is able to enjoy this wonderful experience, including busking, performances and quiz nights amongst many other things.
