Fallen Hero Deputy Paul Luciano Flagler Co. S.O.

Tax deductible

Our fallen Hero Flagler County Sheriff's Office Detention Deputy Sheriff Paul Luciano, who died-in-the-line-of duty, had been hospitalized while battling COVID-19, which he likely contracted while serving in the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. In a recent hospital call with Sheriff Rick Staly, Paul said he would "keep fighting but it was in God’s hands.” Sadly, after weeks of fighting a long and hard battle Paul lost his fight with Covid-19 and God called him home to now serve with him.

Deputy Luciano started his career in 1996 with the Bunnell, FL Police Department but was called to serve in the correctional field and joined the Volusia County Department of Corrections where he retired in 2017 as a Lieutenant. His compassion for helping others caused him to return to the correctional field and in November 2019 he joined the Flagler County Sheriff's Office as a Detention Deputy Sheriff. He quickly became a mentor to younger Deputy Sheriff's and inmates and was known as "Looch."

"Looch" was a strong and faithful Christian and we know he is serving alongside God watching over his community and family. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers along with his brothers and sisters at FCSO as we mourn his loss, which devastates us all. Deputy Luciano is survived by his wife of 43-years, Carrie, his father, a Korean War veteran, two son's and a daughter.

To honor Deputy Luciano and support his family all funds raised will go to the family to cover their unexpected costs resulting from the loss of his income and his unexpected passing.

100% of the funds raised will go to cover costs and expenses to honor Deputy Luciano.

The Flagler Sheriff’s Employee Assistance Trust, Inc. (FSEAT ) was the vision of Sheriff Rick Staly, and was founded in 2017 to aid Flagler County Sheriff’s Office employees in time of critical need. FSEAT is a 501(c)3 organization .

Our goal is threefold:

1. Provide confidential financial assistance to employees during a personal crisis.

2. Give support to the families of slain Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

3. Recognize Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies killed in the line of duty.

Flagler County Sheriff’s Office employees are sworn to protect and serve our community, which is key to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. FSEAT now turns to the community for your support. Area businesses, organizations, and Sheriff’s Office employees’ personal payroll deductions continue to make this program possible through their generous contributions. We have been blessed with community support and we are grateful for it. We continue to seek financial support to expand the FSEAT program.

Our mission is simple and direct, “To serve those who serve our community.”
