Fallen Rider Fund
Donation protected
This page is being created to fundraise for local fallen riders in the DFW area who have gone thru a catastrophic event on a dirt bike, more than the typical breaks and sprains. We all know the expenses a rider and his/her family can accrue when going thru a serious injury or death. If this fund can help even pay a light or gas bill to the fallen rider, then it will have done it’s job. Of course the goal is to aim higher in support of a rider like medical bills, rehab or funeral arrangements if need be.
My plan is to have a panel of 3 to 5 well known and respected local riders (to be named) to act as a fiduciary control to vote on and decide how much of the fund to award on a case by case basis. The amount of the fund and your donations will be transparent at all times. Anyone will be able to see the balance of the fund. This will strictly be non-profit and the controlling members on the panel will not take a dime of the fund, and only decide if and how much we can donate per rider per event.
There are thousands of riders and family members here in the North Texas area. We are fortunate as riders to have multiple tracks and trails to use at our leisure. If everyone could donate just $5 or $10, or even more if perhaps you own your own company as a tax write-off, we could really make a difference in someone’s life or their families’ life in their time of need. My goal is to maintain a balance of atleast $5000, and above would be ideal.
Racing season is upon us. We are about to be full steam ahead every weekend racing our dirt bikes, camping and enjoying each others company as we do in moto. Already this year we have had several riders go down with serious injuries and/or loss of life. As a local Vet rider myself, this made me ask myself what can we do as a Moto Community to help ease the pain of the fallen, even if just a little.
Please help us get this fund up and running so we can help our next fallen rider. We are also open to any suggestions or fundraising at your upcoming local races, place of business etc... Could be something as simple as a donation jar or easy-up at the signup window. Let’s make this work, I know we can do it!!!
